TGS was founded by my father Mr. Chandra Prakash Pandit who pioneered tourism to Rajasthan by starting TGS, then called Tourist Guide Service, in 1951. In association with the Government of Rajasthan, TGS facilitated tourism by starting air-conditioned bus services from Delhi to Jaipur in cooperation with Rajasthan Roadways. Similarly, TGS worked closely with Indian Airlines to start flights to Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur. TGS worked with the royal families of Jaipur and Udaipur to turn Rambagh Palace and Lake Palace into hotels. TGS worked with the Govt. of Rajasthan and operated circuit houses for use of tourists. TGS pioneered such tourism staples as the elephant ride at Amer.

After the untimely death of my father in 1968, my mother Mrs Sumitra Pandit successfully ran the business which I joined out of school in 1979. My wife, Manjari, joined the business in 1985

TGS has worked, since its inception, on a business to business (B2B) basis with tour operators and with leading corporate travel agencies in India to handle their ground arrangements in various parts of Rajasthan and India.

TGS was selected by the US Embassy to handle the visit of President Bill Clinton in March 2000 to Jaipur and Ranthambore, which involved arrangements for 600 persons of the Presidential entourage and over 300 vehicles. You will find a testimonial from the US Embassy on the website.

Now thanks to the internet, we are able to offer our expertise to travelers from all over the world and arrange customised tours for them in India.
